What exactly is HOPN? +
HOPN is the all-in-one app for a night out with your group. Plan the route, invite your friends, run the night on a live map, and wake up to a recap of every stop and photo. Post the trip to your profile for friends to interact with. All the memories from your night out, saved in one place.
How much does it cost? +
HOPN is free to download and use. We may add premium features down the line, but the core experience (starting trips, checking in, the live group map, and the morning recap) will always be free.
Is HOPN available now? +
Yes. HOPN is live on the App Store and free to download. It's an iPhone app (iOS 17 or later), so you'll need an iPhone to run it.
Who can see my location? +
Your location is only visible to the friends in your pouch, and only while a trip is active. While a trip is running, HOPN records your route in the background if you grant that permission, which is how the live map, your stops, and the Morning Recap work. When the trip ends, both the sharing and the tracking stop. HOPN is on when you're out and off when you're not. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
What happens to the photos and check-ins from my night? +
Everything in your trip stays in the pouch by default. Only the people on the trip can see your photos, route, stops, and recap. If you want to share it beyond the pouch, you can post the full trip to your profile and feed for friends to see.
Is HOPN only for going to bars? +
Nope. Any night out that involves multiple spots and a group works: bar crawls, concerts, birthdays, bachelorette weekends, festival days, visiting a friend's city, a wedding weekend. If it's a story you'd want to remember the next morning, HOPN is built for it.
